Hi, I’m Alex! I’ve been working in sales for innovative startups like SoftBank Robotics and large corporations like NBC Universal for years. Now, I work as an industry mentor at Pathrise to help people land great sales jobs through workshops and 1-on-1 mentorship. Check out my review of Aspireship.

What does Aspireship do?
Aspireship is an online sales for tech bootcamp that teaches people the necessary skills to land a job as an account executive at a SaaS (software as sales) company.
Current and former founders, CEOs, VPs, directors, and other industry experts teach the lessons. The curriculum uses live class sessions (which are not recorded) as well as recorded lectures. Students participate in quizzes, assessments, and virtual job simulations. They must attend the class sessions. But, the rest of the program can be done at their own pace. This helps to accommodate each participant’s individual schedule. The program takes around 20-30 hours to complete. Candidates who devote 5 hours per week to the program usually finish the curriculum in 30 days.
Those who pass the assessments within the program with a high score receive a certificate of completion. Aspireship assists people with finding a job by connecting students with the employers in the Aspireship network. But, they do not guarantee job placement or provide rigorous career coaching.
Who is Aspireship for?
People who are trying to launch a career in sales for tech, as well as those looking to level up to a more senior position at a SaaS company, can benefit from Aspireship.
What does Aspireship cost? How much work is involved?
Aspireship is free.
There is no formal application process. But, prospective students do need to fill out a brief online form. They answer a few short questions and then enrollment counselors determine if they are a good fit.
Ratings and reviews
As a relatively new program, there are not too many reviews of Aspireship online. However, their fundraising efforts were featured in the Phoenix Business Journal in 2019.
A Reddit user who participated in the program recommended Aspireship for people who are trying to land a job as an account executive at a tech company. According to the reviewer, “I went through a course called Aspireship which helps you learn skills to be an account executive and then once you complete the course they set you up with a job with their connections. Right now it is free as they just started, and I would highly suggest anyone trying to become an account executive to take it.”

How does Aspireship compare to Pathrise?
Aspireship is a program for people who are looking to develop the necessary skills to land a sales job in tech. While the program connects students with potential employers, Aspireship does not provide in-depth career coaching (such as assistance with resumes, interview prep, and other components of the job search) or guarantee job placement.
Pathrise is a full service organization that helps people land the best job possible. Our mentors have experience on both sides of the hiring table and work 1-on-1 with fellows on each step of their job search, including resume & LinkedIn optimization, interview prep, salary negotiation, cold emailing, and reverse recruiting strategies.
Our program is flexible. There are only 4 hours of group sessions per week and fellows can schedule 1-on-1 sessions as needed. By placing a big emphasis on 1-on-1 mentorship, we tailor our curriculum to meet each fellow’s specific needs and career objectives.
Pathrise is a career accelerator that helps people land their dream job in tech through 1-on-1 mentorship. If you are interested in working with any of our mentors to get help with your technical and behavioral interviews or any other aspect of the job search, join Pathrise.
